Skala is a beautiful seaside village with a marvellous combination of lush vegetation and breathtaking scenery.  Nature, together with the archaeological sites make it a favourite holiday resort for both Greeks and foreigners.  Skala is renowned for it's long, beautiful and clean sandy beaches and nearby there are small nature bays with secluded beaches.  Here, the sea is almost always calm.

At the nearby beach of Potamakia you can find the caretta-caretta turtles which lay their eggs in the sand. Near the village are mosaics from a Roman villa of the 3rd century A.D.  On the outskirts of the village are the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollo, dated the 7th century B.C.  The whole area affords a splendid view of Zakynthos, Peloponnisos and the Ionian sea.

Skala today offers hotels and rooms for rent as well as the conveniences necessary for the visitors comfort. (Plenty of good restaurants, supermarkets and bars).  The inhabitants of the area are distinguished particularly for their culture, their friendly disposition and their hospitality.  The tourist season starts on the 1st May and finishes at the end of October.  Skala is offered for relaxing and unforgettable holidays.  Accommodation pre-booking is suggested in time at least for the high season.
